Parentesi: is it a folding screen, a coat stand, a changing room or a hiding place?
Parentesi by Fabrice Berrux is a coat stand resembling a niche, able to join gather, organise and conceal clothes and items in a practical and original way. With its architectural nature, it defines the space, keeping it neat and tidy and adding character thanks to its unprecedented design. Parentesi stands out for its simple yet uncommon style suited to different settings, from the entrance hall, to the bedroom, from the office to the most refined contract spaces. The frame is padded and upholstered in fabric; the top and tubular hanger rail are in black eco-leather. The wide range of choice of the fabric allows Parentesi to assume a more classic or bold look, while keeping its functionality and timeless elegance unaltered.
After graduating from the National School of Fine Arts in Dijon, Fabrice Berrux set up the firm “18 Août” in 1987, creating playful objects which are sold in major museum shops such as the Georges Pompidou Centre in Paris. In 1991, he founded Dix Heures Dix, a company specialising in the lighting sector. Fabrice Berrux designs for some of the biggest international furniture and design brands. The Panorama sofa, presented at the Salone del Mobile 2018, has been awarded with the Good Design Award.
