Accessibility Statement
Accessibility Statement for the Bonaldo.com Website for Entities Referred to in Article 3(1-bis) of Law No. 4 of 9 January 2004 – European Accessibility Act (EAA) (Directive (EU) 2019/882)
Statement
Bonaldo S.p.A. (the “Company”) is committed to making its website accessible, in accordance with Law No. 4 of 9 January 2004 and Legislative Decree No. 82/2022.
This accessibility statement applies to the Bonaldo website: https://www.bonaldo.com
Compliance status: Partially compliant
The website is partially compliant with the requirements of standard UNI CEI EN 301549 and the WCAG 2.2 Level AA guidelines, due to the instances of non-compliance listed in the section “Non-accessible Content”.
Measures implemented to date to ensure accessibility
- Text alternatives (Alt text). All images published on the website are provided with alternative text, which is mandatory at code level. Purely decorative images have an empty alternative text attribute so that they can be ignored by screen readers; decorative icons and graphics are hidden from assistive technologies, while icon-only buttons (close, carousel arrows, social media and download buttons) have accessible names.
- Use of colour and colour contrast. Colour is never the sole means of conveying information. Form errors are indicated by text messages and not merely by the colour of the border, and the status of selectable elements (filters, materials, finishes and timeline years) is also communicated to assistive technologies. The grey used for text has been darkened to achieve a contrast ratio of at least 4.5:1 against a white background; breadcrumbs and carousel indicators meet the minimum thresholds, and text on light backgrounds selected by the editorial team is displayed in black. The exceptions listed in the section “Non-accessible Content” remain.
- Multimedia content. The videos on the website contain music only, with no spoken dialogue; therefore, subtitles are not required. The features of the products shown are described in text on the relevant pages. Automatically playing videos (such as the homepage introductory video) start without sound and can be paused using a dedicated button. They do not autoplay if the user has enabled the reduced-motion preference in their system settings. All other videos start only at the user's request.
- Text resizing. Text is defined using relative units and browser zoom is not disabled, allowing content to be enlarged up to 200% using standard browser functions, without the need for assistive technologies.
- Keyboard navigation. All website functionalities can be accessed using a keyboard, including the main menu, search, product filters and sorting, carousels and galleries, historical timeline, dealer locator map, restricted download area and the selection of materials and finishes in the configurator. A “Skip to main content” link is provided and, when the page changes, focus is moved to the main content. Menus, search panels and overlays can be closed using the Esc key, and when they are closed, focus returns to the control that opened them. The rotation of the 3D configurator view is an exception (see “Non-accessible Content”).
- Visible and unobscured focus indicator. All interactive elements display a consistent and clearly visible focus indicator (a 2-pixel outline in the text colour, offset from the element). When menus, search panels and dialog boxes are open, focus remains within them and cannot move to elements obscured by the overlay.
- Touch target size. Interactive controls have a clickable or tappable area of at least 24 × 24 pixels, as required by WCAG criterion 2.5.8. The control that did not meet this threshold (the WeChat icon) has been enlarged.
- Time limits. The website does not impose time limits on browsing content or completing forms. The anti-spam verification for forms is automatically renewed and, in the event of expiry or error, users receive a text notification.
- Page language declared in the code. The language of each page is declared in the code across all seven language versions of the website. Each language option in the language selector is also marked with its respective language so that it is correctly pronounced by screen readers. Labels intended for assistive technologies are translated into all website languages.
- Consistent and predictable navigation and menus. The header, menu, footer and breadcrumb navigation maintain the same position and behaviour across all pages. Navigation areas are identified by distinct labels, breadcrumbs indicate the current page, and links that open a new tab are clearly identified as such.
- Moving content and automatic playback. No content automatically refreshes or scrolls without the user being able to control it: carousels advance only in response to user interaction, and the introductory video can be paused. If the user has enabled the reduced-motion preference, animations immediately transition to their final state.
- Descriptive headings and labels. Page sections are introduced by actual heading elements, which screen readers can use to navigate the content. All form fields have an associated label (even when it is not visually displayed), mandatory fields are identified by a legend, and buttons and links have names that describe their function.
- Text-based error identification. Form errors are indicated by text messages, automatically announced by screen readers, and invalid fields are marked accordingly. Errors relating to anti-spam verification and submission confirmations are also displayed and announced.
- Redundant entry (WCAG 2.2, criterion 3.3.7). Website forms can be completed in a single step and do not require users to re-enter information they have already provided. Personal information fields support the browser's autofill functionality.
- Robustness – valid HTML code. The website uses native HTML elements (buttons, links and form fields), and page regions (header, navigation, main content and footer) are correctly marked up so that browsers and screen readers interpret the pages consistently. During the accessibility improvements, structural errors identified were corrected, such as invalid nesting on the 404 error page and the use of paragraph elements instead of headings.
- Robustness – compatibility with assistive technologies. Custom components (dialog boxes, menus, accordions, filters, dealer locator, timeline and configurator) communicate their role, name and state to assistive software through ARIA attributes. Status messages, such as errors and submission confirmations, are announced without moving focus.
Non-accessible Content
The following content is not fully accessible:
- PDF documents. Product sheets generated by the website in PDF format, as well as downloadable documents (catalogues and technical materials), are not accessible (tagged) PDFs and may therefore not be correctly read by screen readers.
- 3D configurator. The three-dimensional product view can only be rotated and zoomed using a mouse or touch gestures, and no detailed text equivalent is available. However, the selection of materials and finishes remains fully accessible via keyboard and assistive technologies (WCAG 1.1.1, 2.1.1).
- Contrast of certain elements. In the timeline on the company history page, unselected years are displayed with reduced opacity, resulting in a contrast ratio below the minimum requirement of 4.5:1. The ring indicating the selected material or finish has a contrast ratio below 3:1 against the background (WCAG 1.4.3, 1.4.11).
- Image alternative text. For some images uploaded through the content management system, the alternative text is derived from the file name and may not adequately describe the image content (WCAG 1.1.1).
- Cookie banner (third-party service). In the cookie consent management banner, provided by an external service, three buttons have untranslated accessible names, which screen readers announce as placeholder codes (WCAG 4.1.2).
The Company undertakes to progressively resolve the above-mentioned issues as part of future website updates.
Preparation of the Statement
This statement was prepared on 2 November 2026, based on a self-assessment carried out by the website development team through an analysis of the source code against the WCAG 2.2 Level AA criteria and testing of the published website.
The latest accessibility improvements were completed between July and October 2026.
